Your Crystal Grid Questions Answered
For those who are new to my blog, my name is Ethan Lazzerini and I am the author of three crystal books. I recently asked for questions about crystal grids in my Instagram stories. Thank you to those that took part, here are some of the most common and interesting questions. Hopefully, this will help everyone reading this too.
Remember, if you need more help beyond my blog posts my most in-depth and comprehensive info can be found in my bestselling book Crystal Grids Power. It is suitable for complete beginners or those with experience alike.
Q 1. “There always seems to be an anchor crystal in the centre of your crystal grids. How does this relate to the grid and how do you choose the right one?”
A. Yes, this is true, I call this the ‘central stone’ but it is also known as a keystone, centre stone or focus stone. It’s on its own because it brings unity and focuses the grid on your desired outcome. It helps anchor your intention and connects all the crystals together. It plays a big part in sending the energy out but does not act alone.
When I select this crystal it will be one that represents the core intention of the grid. Its properties are the essence of the grid. There are shapes that work for most crystal grids as a central stone (Generators or Pyramids) but sometimes a shape that represents your specific intention can be used like a heart for a love grid for example.
Q 2. “Can I use a crystal cluster as a central stone in my crystal grid?“
A. When I wrote Crystal Grids Power I had not used clusters in my grids and was unsure about them because they are a group of crystals. I’ve since found them to work well as central stones.
The reason this works is that the crystal cluster which formed thousands or millions of years ago are unified and work as one. I do find them particularly good for grids to help groups of people like a family, country or community.
Q 3. “Why do some crystal grids not work? What are the reasons that a crystal grid might not work for someone?”
A. There are many reasons that your crystal grid might not work. Firstly, every grid is different because we all have different circumstances. Secondly, bare in mind that the Universe is not in a hurry, we can’t always get what we want when we want, some things take time.
With grids, we are basically using a tool to help us manifest something or bring healing. Some of the reasons a grid might not work could include, clutter around the grid or strong EMFs nearby. Not dusting your grid or cleansing the crystals. Not taking guided action toward your goals or if there is a lot of fear and doubt over your intention. If you want to know more check out my blog post Why Your Crystal Grid Isn’t Working (and how to fix it).
Q 4. “Can I use a perspex or resin crystal grid base? Will it still work if its a man-made material?“
A. Yes, perspex and resin are similar to plastic. I consider them to have neutral energy, they don’t really amplify or reduce energy. If you use them the energy will come from the sacred geometry pattern used rather than the material.
Q 5. “What will happen if I use a gold-plated Metatron’s Cube crystal grid base with a copper pyramid?“
A. Both these items are great for boosting the energy of your crystal grid. The pyramid also keeps any crystals it covers cleansed. The combination is powerful but it’s like the icing on the cake. The rest of the grid from which crystals you are using to your intention is still the most important thing.
Q 6. “Should I cleanse my crystal grid once it’s up? How often should I cleanse it?“
A. Yes, I recommend that crystal grids that are left up a while are cleansed regularly. As a guide cleanse them once a month at least. This can be done if when you’re cleansing your home. For more info please see my blog post about Cleansing Crystal Grids.
Q 7. “Can I make a crystal grid for someone else?“
A. You can make a crystal grid for someone if they ask you. If they didn’t ask then I think its best to discuss this with them before making a grid. This is a general rule and there are situations where this is not possible, so you will need to decide for yourself.
You can always intend that the grid’s effect is only for the persons highest good which I always add to my intention notes if needed.
Q 8. “There are so many crystal grids that I want to make. I got your book but I just don’t know where to start or if I should make lots of grids at once?“
A. Thanks for getting my book. Firstly, if you are just starting grids I don’t recommend you make lots at once. Take your time and start with one grid then build two more later perhaps.
To decide, start with creating a list of all the grids in the book that you would like to do. Rate each one from 1 to 5 with five being the highest priority right now for you.
Q 9. “Where do you get your wooden and copper crystal grid templates/bases from?“
A. There are a few different places where I get mine. You can find links to them in my blog post on the different types of Crystal Grid Bases.
Q 1O. “Can I colour my printed or drawn crystal grid templates? Will the colours affect the grid?“
A. Yes you can do this if you want. All colours have meanings and associations. Use colours that work with the intention of your grid. You could use green or gold for a prosperity grid or pink for a heart chakra grid for example.
I hope these crystal grid questions have been helpful. I would love to hear from you in the comments below (PLEASE keep any questions you have concise and stick to this blog post topic if you want a response).

Thank you so much. I do have all of your books and when we move to our new house will be able to concentrate more on grids. Have a few different bases but atm am obsessed with the hand stitched ones I made on linen cloth. Blessing to you Rosa
your linen grid bases sound lovely! enjoy your new home.
hi ethan, thanks for the great q&a blog! i love to see when people use “for their higher good” with any work they are doing for others. i learned the phrase from my reiki instructor to use with healing but my guides taught me to use it all of the time. even if a person asks for something doesn’t make it for their higher good so i always use the phrase when i do any work for others & for myself as well. as hard as life can be at times it is sometimes just something that we need to go through, if we avoid it we may interfere with our journey or we may just get something else which may be even harder thrown at us. something to consider for a nonworking grid as well.
It’s always been part of all the intention statements for all the grids I teach that affect others. The thing is many people do their own thing so I’ve had to mention it here.
Thank you for all the helpful tips in getting started! There is a question that’s been bothering me though, that I can’t seem to find any answer to. In most grids, the way stones are all one set of the same, as are the desire stones- is it possible to mix different stones to serve as the way stones together? For example, a pattern of two different crystals in this place? Or will this fog the energy/intention somehow?
People will have different opinions. I call all the crystals around the central stone, support stones myself. What gives these grids their power is the multiplication and numerological effect for these groups rather than lots of individual stones. I do though think you can alternate these groups of stones sometimes. Instead of 6 carnelians I could do three with three Tiger’s Eye. I’m still working with the geometry, numerology and the intention of the grid. I recently bought you Crystal Grid Power book I would like to know if it is ok to use rough crystal pieces instead of tumble stones as I do like the energy of rough crystals as they have had the least amount of work done on them. I have both tumbled and rough crystals therefore can I use both?
Glad you are using the book. Yes, you can use chunks of crystals too and combine them with polished too.
