What Is The Lion’s Gate Portal? + Crystals & Lions Gate Crystal Grid (UPDATED)

Since publishing this blog post a couple of years ago, I have made a concise YouTube video about the Lion’s Gate Portal, the crystals and my crystal grid. I recommend you watch this video first, if you need any more detail you can find it in this article.

The Astrological Alignment Of The Lion’s Gate

There are different interpretations of the Lion’s Gate and how long it lasts. As this is an astrological cycle the dates may change over time. For me, the Lion’s Gate starts on the 26th of July which is the start of the Mayan solar calendar. This day marks the beginning of a new solar year.

This cycle starts while our Sun is in the zodiac sign of Leo (the lion). The Sun also rules Leo so this is a positive transit.

Around this time of year, we also observe the rising of the brightest star in the night sky, Sirius. This was seen as the sign of the new year for the ancient Egyptians. Some say that Sirius is our ‘Spiritual Sun’.

Many also believe the Lions Gate Portal is connected to an alignment in the sky between the three pyramids of Giza with the constellation of Orion. This is controversial and I have not been able to confirm this. Anyone from the area, please comment!

The Numerology Of The Lions Gate Portal

The energy peaks on the 8th of August (88) when the energy portal is said to be fully open. This is the part that relates to numerology and angel numbers. 8.8. is an auspicious number sequence and is associated with prosperity.

After 88, the energy starts receding rapidly with most people saying that the portal closes around the 12th of August.

The Energy Of The Lion’s Gate Portal

During the Lion’s Gate alignment (26th July – 8th of August) we enter a period of high cosmic energy. It can be seen as a portal of spiritual energy opening that reaches its peak on the 8/8 date.

This period tends to affect people more who are already on a spiritual path. Below are a few ways that the Lion’s Gate Portal may affect you and your life:

You might feel the intense energy

It assists you in letting go of the past

It supports new projects and new beginnings

You may receive spiritual downloads or inspiration

Needed heart-healing can occur

Receiving signs and synchronicity

Being reminded of people you need to forgive

Having strange or significant dreams

Receiving guidance about your life purpose

Experiencing life changes or transitions

Going through a personal transformation

Accelerated spiritual growth

How Will It Affect Me?

The Lion’s Gate Portal will affect people differently and at different times in your life. Try to think back to last year during this time to what was going on in your life. If you keep a journal, it’s fascinating to look back over the years and see what was happening. Also, dream journals can indicate how it affects your dream state.

The spiritual world may be trying to communicate with you at this time. This is valuable guidance that can help you make big or needed changes in your life. Your awareness will make this much easier as you will be more open and are less likely to miss the signs.

What To Do During the Lion’s Gate

Here are a few suggestions to make the most of the energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal:

Keep a daily journal of your experience.

Start (or restart) a dream journal and decode your dreams.

Be on the lookout for signs, angel numbers and messages.

Act on the signs or synchronicity you receive.

Be open to new ideas that come to you and give them a try.

Start a new project, especially if you’ve been putting it off.

Do something creative and express yourself.

Do an oracle or tarot card reading for guidance.

Forgive someone and lose that heavy energy you’re carrying.

Do some crystal healing on your heart chakra.

Make positive and needed life changes.

Carry or wear crystals that are aligned with the energy (see below).

Make a crystal grid to anchor the powerful energy (see below).

You could connect with the astrological and cosmic energy of the Lion’s Gate with crystals during this time. You can meditate with them, carry or wear them daily. Below is a list of crystals that I recommend during this time. Also, see the crystal grid below for more ideas.

Working With Crystal Grids

The Lion’s Gate period is a great time for activating crystal grids for new beginnings, spiritual guidance, inspiration, life purpose alignment or manifesting abundance. There are grids for all these intentions in my book Crystal Grids Power. In this blog post, I’m sharing a new crystal grid that you won’t have seen before.

The Lion’s Gate Portal Crystal Grid

I’ve created a crystal grid especially for working with the energy of the Lion’s Gate. The grid helps you to release the past, receive spiritual guidance and align with your higher purpose.

Although it can be made at any time during the Lion’s Gate, it’s nice to have it up on the 26th of July through to the 8th of August if possible. You can take it down on the 9th, wait till the 13th or leave it up a little longer if you wish.

Sacred Geometry Meaning

I’ve used the sacred geometry symbol of Metatron’s Cube for this crystal grid. It helps cleanse negative energy and opens up the crown chakra to receive divine wisdom and guidance.

YOU WILL NEED:

1 Medium or Large Tiger’s Eye

Tiger’s Eye is one of the key stones for Leo energy, willpower and grounding. You could use a standing crystal point/tower, pyramid, obelisk, sphere or Merkaba star if available. This crystal could be substituted with Citrine, Sunstone, Golden Healer Quartz or Bumblebee Jasper.

3 Blue Kyanite Crystals

Blue Kyanite is a high vibe crystal that helps you release negative attachments, align with your higher purpose and receive spiritual downloads. I’m using raw crystal blades but you can use other polished forms or tumble stones. This crystal could be substituted with Black Kyanite, Selenite (Satin Spar) or Lapis Lazuli.

3 Clear Quartz Crystal Points

Clear Quartz points bring focus, clarity and amplification. I’ve used Lemurian Seed Crystals in mine but any Clear Quartz crystals can be used. If crystal points are unavailable you could use other forms or tumble stones.

3 Tiger’s Eye Tumbled Stones

More Tiger’s Eye to connect with Leo energy, willpower and grounding. You could use other shapes or forms if you have them. This crystal could be substituted with Citrine, Sunstone, Golden Healer Quartz, Yellow Jasper or Bumblebee Jasper.

3 Clear Quartz Pyramids

More Clear Quartz for focus, clarity and amplification. I’ve used pyramids but you could use crystal points, tumble stones or other forms.

3 Amethyst

Amethyst is for spiritual growth, psychic abilities and releasing the past. I’ve used standing crystal points but you can use other forms, including tumble stones. This crystal could be substituted with Selenite, Labradorite or Celestite.

3 Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli connects you to Ancient Egypt, the stars, intuition and spiritual downloads. I’ve used double terminated crystal points but you could use other forms, including tumble stones. This crystal could be substituted with Sodalite, Iolite or Tektite.

Metatron’s Cube Crystal Grid Template (Optional)

I’ll include a link to the printable crystal grid template below if you wish to use it. You can also use your own crystal grid base like I have if you prefer. Mine is etched wood and made by Fractal Roots on Etsy. Please note I painted the circles with gold paint myself.

Using a Crystal Grid Template

I have created a FREE printable Crystal Grid Template that you can download and print yourself if you want. You don’t need to sign up for anything. Just click the link below to download the PDF file. You can print it out on paper or ideally use card.

Simple Crystal Grid Activation

If you already know how to activate a crystal grid, feel free to use your prefered method. Otherwise, to keep things nice and easy, I’m going to show you a really simple method to activate the grid which does not use an activation crystal wand. Activation programs or charges the crystals with your intention, so they can begin to do their work for you.

Intention Note (Optional)

Using a note is optional. Before you begin, write on a small piece of paper a statement of your intention similar to an affirmation. This could be something like, “May I experience the full potential of the energy of the Lion’s Gate Portal”.

How To Activate Your Crystal Grid For Energy:

1. Hold all your cleansed crystals and the note in your hands (or work in batches).

2. Close your eyes and take three deep breaths.

3. Raise your crystals in front of your Third Eye Chakra (brow area).

4. Focus on your intention. Say to yourself or out loud a statement of your intention like “I program this crystal grid to assist me in experiencing the full potential of the Lion’s Gate Portal.”

5. Lastly, arrange your crystals into position (see below).

Setting Up Your Crystal Grid

Now that your crystals are programmed and charged with your intention, all you have to do is arrange them. Use a flat surface that will not be easily disturbed. Please see the diagram above.

(1) The Tiger’s Eye goes into the centre, on top of the optional folded note.

(2) Then the three Blue Kyanite forms an upward-pointing triangle.

(3) The three Clear Quartz crystals form a downward-pointing triangle.

(4) The three Tiger’s Eye form a triangle.

(5) Then the three Clear Quartz another triangle.

(6) The three Amethyst form the outer upper triangle.

(7) Lastly the three Lapis Lazuli form the outer downward-pointing triangle.

Afterwards

Once you are finished with your grid, cleanse it and deactivate it by deprogramming all the crystals. See my article on How To Deprogram a Crystal for more info.
