Crystals work on a spiritual and energetic level to cleanse, balance and energise us. This all helps towards healing but as I always say, should not be used as a substitute for any prescribed medication or the advice of a licenced medical practitioner. Always use crystals in conjunction with any other treatments you may be having.
How To use Crystals for Healing
If you are open to holistic health and alternative healing methods, Crystals can be used for healing in a variety of ways. You can simply carry these stones with you, wear them or place them on the associated body area or Chakras.

Clear Quartz
Often refered to as the ‘Master Healer‘ and for good reason. Clear Quartz boosts the energy in a location it is placed in. It expands the aura and makes it more strong. Many Healers use Clear Quartz as a tool to channel healing energies. Quartz also absorbs negative energies too.

Bloodstone
Bloodstone is a dark green stone with red spots. Green is a healing colour and this stone has a long history of being used for just that. Bloodstone supports the healing process in many ways. traditionally it has been used for blood related illness but it is an all round healing stone.

This is so useful post. Nowadays so many crystals for healing available but the main confusion is that which one to opt? So, this post clearly describing all the statics how to opt any which one is really helpful for healing our body.

Hi , I have a clear crystal point on my bedside draws ,I use this to help healing for myself ,I was just reading your piece on sleep explaining not to have clear quartz next to you as it amplifies ,due to using for self healing is it ok to keep at the side of my bed ? I love to have it on a light source as the quartz colours mesmurize me too , I’m not sure now if it is ok to keep there while I sleep or not ? Thank you
Hi, I think I have explained why I don’t recommend keeping Standing Crystal Points by the bed (Or ones pointing at your head) but it really is up to you. Also direction is important, I have used a point, by the bed pointing away from my body and found that to be cleansing. If you find that the crystal has helped you and not disturbed your sleep then that is your answer.
Hi Ethan , thankyou for your quick reply , my clear crystal points are all facing up that I use at the side of my bed, I do struggle with sleep due to health reasons and did before purchasing these ,I will read more though about the crystal points at the side of the bed as I have a few clear and a rose quartz point too , I also have what I call my bedside chakra balance small rough set pieces which are hemetite ,Celestine, citrine,amethyst ,rhodonite, green emerald , smokey quartz, ocean Jasper, red Jasper , selenite , black and blue kyanite, quartz tourmaline points, labradolite points, sodalite, aura cluster, lapis lazuli and small green aventurine , I use these to aid in mainly healing services and for chakra balance , I think they are all ok to use together ? I’m not sure if any conflict with each other ? With what I have read I think there ok to use together and balance each other , I will read further into all these though to double check and the points too , thank you
Chakra sets are a whole different thing as they are used for treatments not something permanent. The crystals are placed in a way that makes them harmonious like a rainbow.
Hello Ethan, I brought a beautiful rose quartz necklace recently. I was instantly drawn to it and even though I already have a rose quartz crystal and wasn’t planning to buy another, I chose the necklace out of many other stones that were on display. However, it brought up a surge of negative emotions the day after I started wearing it, mostly anger and grief (out of all proportion of the triggering factor I must say). I have kept aside the necklace for now and instead have been sleeping with the rose quartz crystal under my pillow. I will be cleansing the necklace during this coming full moon and programming it for self love before wearing it again.
I read somewhere that healing stones sometimes bring up negative emotions to the surface as part of the cleansing process. Is that true? What are your thoughts on this? How should I deal with the emotions if they come up again?
Rose Quartz can help with emotional healing so it is possible it brought something up as you released it. It is vital that you cleanse all crystals that you buy or are given, not sure if you did this or not.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I’d bought the quartz from a wiccan stone table event, and was informed that it was already charged and that it didn’t need to be cleansed immediately. I would not want to use water as you advised to cleanse it, so waiting for the full moon in a few days from now. I do see a marked improvement in the appearance of stones after a moon cleansing.
Well Quartz is one of the stronger stones that can withstand water but I would not put any jewellery in water. Yeah I personally would still cleanse anything I buy regardless if the seller sells it as cleansed and charged. Everytime a custmoer picks up their items they can absorb their energies. I am not convinced they can cleanse items everytime someone touches their crystals. Best to do it yourself.

Very nice blog. I use crystals to treat a migraines lapis lazuli is very powerful in this regard. It is useful for lowering the intensity of migraine attacks.
Is it possible for you to recommend crystals and a grid type to help release addiction to alcohol please? I’d be grateful for any advice
It’s not something I have done much work with, sorry. I do know some use Amethyst to help with alcohol addiction.
Sarah, Etajn is spot on as usual with Amethyst, but you might also want to look into Petalite, particularly the pink variety, as this is a great healing stone which should not only aid in overcoming the problem, but also aid in letting go of whatever caused it.
