What is Aura Cleansing?
Your aura is your energy field. It is connected with the electromagnetic field of living things but is really more of a spiritual energy. Your aura holds the energy of emotions, thoughts and energy you have absorbed from others or the world.
This is why cleansing your aura or ‘purification techniques’ are common in many different spiritual and religious traditions. There are many ways to do this and one of those is by working with crystals.
When Should You Cleanse Your Aura?
Any time is a good time, it’s entirely up to you. Traditionally people cleanse their aura before doing spiritual practices. But you can do this whenever you feel you need it. Perhaps you have had a bad or stressful day? Maybe you don’t feel yourself?
It’s a good idea for empaths to cleanse their aura every day to keep their energy strong and clear. You could also do this during times of transition such as the full or new moon.
How To Work With Crystals To Cleanse Your Aura
The following crystals help cleanse your aura of negative energy over time. You can carry or wear one of them for this. But you may like to cleanse your aura in one quick crystal healing session.
There are many ways to do this but essentially you are passing the crystal through your aura in a downward motion. I’ve created a little video to try to show you this.

Working with a crystal point or wand is easier but any shape could still be used. Set your intention before you begin. Watch the video below for a quick demonstration with a Selenite/Satin Spar wand (you can use other crystals). Below the video, you will find more info and other crystals to cleanse your aura.
SELENITE/SATIN SPAR
This is one of the most popular stones in crystal healing to cleanse your aura. It brings in a lot of white light from both the angelic realm and the moon to purify negative energy. This is a high vibe cleansing crystal that should be in everyone’s crystal tool kit.
RAINBOW OBSIDIAN
You might not hear that much about this stone but it deserves to be on my list of crystals to cleanse your aura. Rainbow Obsidian appears black but illuminates with many different colours, usually in bands. It clears all layers of your aura, especially if negative thinking is a problem.
DESERT ROSE
This is a beautiful form of Gypsum (like Selenite/Satin Spar), it’s fragile so handle it with care. It’s very powerful at cleansing your energy field. Desert Rose carries the cleansing properties of the moon. It absorbs negative or harmful energy from your aura. It helps separate you from its source. ARAGONITE CLUSTER
This is another crystal that you might want to explore for its cleansing properties. These fascinating starburst clusters beam deep cleansing energy in all directions. This helps cleanse your aura and dissolve stubborn energy blocks that may be holding you back.
BLACK KYANITE
This is a good alternative if you don’t get on with Black Obsidian. Black Kyanite fan crystals are great to sweep negative and unwanted energy out of your aura. This black beauty supports you in disconnecting from people or places that are dragging your energy down.

Hi, if using aragonite to cleanse, do you need to wash it after? If I’m correct selenite does not need purifying after? Thank you so much for your book and patience!
I personally have always cleansed all crystals after use including Selenite. I don’t think Aragonite likes water so use dry methods. More info Are There Self Cleansing Crystals You NEVER Cleanse?

I have your Physic Protecton Crystal book and have you the cord cutting over the last couple of years I have had to do about 3 cord cuttings. As sometimes somepeople get right into me and I have to cut them away. I can say it does work.
Listening to your video I will try and clear my aura . I would like to say weekly but may only be monthly. Watch this space.
I personally feel I need to get back to my Crystal’s and reiki. I seemed to have let go from it over the last 2 to 3 years. Not only the pandemic but I lost my mum in Aug 2019. Could carry on for ages

I used black kyanite to clean myself and my house I felt so unwell. I also feel unwell with crystals in my room that I can’t sleep at night. I used a set of crystals to protect in my pocket and felt much worse. There’s something unbalanced or I just didn’t find yet the ideal crystals for me. Is this symptoms normal. Should i do first a aura reading firsd? Thank you. Rolanda
Sounds like you might be overly sensitive to crystal energy. Please see my blog post about bad reactions to crystals for more info HERE. You could cleanse your aura or space with other methods like incense or sound. Its best to gradually adjust to new crystals, trying them for a short time and building up to all day if they are okay.
