Crystal spheres are powerful forms in crystal healing. This is any crystal, mineral or gemstone carved into a ball. Traditionally they are also known as crystal balls. They can be found in crystal shops and metaphysical stores and used in different ways.
First, let’s look at the geometry and symbolism to understand its energy and the crystal sphere’s metaphysical meaning.
The Sphere In Sacred Geometry
A sphere is a three-dimensional form that is perfectly round. Its surface area is all the same distance from its centre. With no edges, points or angles this form is quite unique. Its curves hold feminine energy and power.
We also see spherical geometry in nature in the form of the earth, planets, the moon, the sun and the stars. Within our bodies, we find spheres in our eyes which act like a lens. This might be why the crystal ball used by psychics is the shape it is.
Crystal Sphere Meaning Explained
Always remember that shape or form of a crystal adds additional properties or amplifies existing ones. This can also focus the crystal’s energy in a very specific way. The type of crystal the sphere is carved from is still important and carries its own meaning.
Let’s look at the crystal sphere’s meaning within the world of crystal healing and spirituality. This is based on the information you can find in my books Crystal Grids Power books 1 & 2 (Volume 2 coming soon).
Crystal spheres radiate energy evenly and smoothly in all directions. They carry peaceful and soothing energy. They bring peace and harmony to your home and relationships. Traditionally, crystal spheres can be used for scrying.
They activate your third eye chakra and support in developing clairvoyance or your intuitive abilities. They stimulate psychic insights and bring greater clarity to your divination work. Crystal spheres can help you focus and bring mental clarity.
Spheres slow down and neutralise harmful or unbalanced energies. They connect you with astrological energy. You can work with them to connect with your guides, angels or goddesses.
Crystal Sphere Stands & Tip!
Spheres will need a stand to display them or work with them in a crystal grid. Crystal sellers usually sell these and they can be made of metal, wood or acrylic.

2. Gaze into a crystal sphere to develop clairvoyant abilities
3. Add to astrological crystal grids or grids for peace, harmony or focus
4, Place a sphere in a room to bring the energy of peace and harmony
5. Add crystal spheres to your goddess altar
6. Meditate with a sphere to connect with your guides and angels
7. Crystal spheres could be used as a massage tool on pressure points

I have 2, one 3cm loose one, and one 1cm one which is mounted in a Sterling silver pendant. Both are Rose Quartz. The pendant had a twin when I bought it, so I got that one too and gave it to my mother for her next birthday.
I would like to have other spheres, but I’m finding the prices prohibitive now.

I have several crystal spheres, but the ones I have on a display in my room are Selenite and Rose Quartz, to smooth and balance the energies. Then I have a Clear Quartz sphere I use to calm down my anxiety, rolling it between my fingers.
I don’t have a sphere yet… I am really drawn to getting an aqua aura sphere. I had an AA pendant many years ago and was having some serious (and sometimes scary) interactions with it. I got rid of it because of the interactions (dizziness, vivid dreams/nightmares, very accurate premonitions. I have been drawn to get another AA Crystal. I am more mature and think I can handle what ever happens with it. I would also like a Super Seven sphere…but $$.
TWO MORE USES FOR CRYSTAL SPHERES.
(1) REVERSE SCRYING:
An optical lens works in two directions. On a camera, it receives images. On a projector, it projects images.
I have a 4 1/4″ clear quartz sphere on my sanctuary alter. Through it, I can project images of the world as I want it. I can bathe the Earth in Healing Light. I can see individuals in perfect physical, emotional and spiritual health. I can see abundance of all sorts. And those projections become reality. They manifest.
(2) GROUNDING:
One normally thinks of selenite as a third eye activator, or as an environment protector and clearer. However, as spheres, it can also be grounding.
I have two 2 3/4″ selenite spheres that I use for driving safety. I place one on my car seat (at my crotch). This activates my root chakra. I place the second one under the car seat. That one activates my Earth Star chakra. (I have each sphere in its own cotton pouch so that they do not roll around and get bumped).
When driving, I connect through the two crystal spheres to the crystalline Heart of Gaia at the center of the Earth. Immediately, I become physical-plane alert, in addition to suddenly noticing all of the trees along the side of the road, and perceiving them as communicating, radiating beings.
One thinks of hematite as a goto general grounding crystal. But for this particular application, namely extending one’s central column downward and anchoring it to Earth’s crystalline core, selenite seems to be more effective. You become stable as a rock or mountain.
For Use #2, I credit my friends Ray & Grant Cahill from ToolsForTheHeart for that tip. It works dramatically well! Once you make the Gaia connection, it sticks. After that you need only focus on your alertness and awareness. This is especially important if you were meditating before you get into the car. Or if you are feeling a bit tired or spacey.
I was thinking about grounding. I think it might be that it takes on the earth/planet energies when combined with an earth element stone.
I have a sodalite sphere but am unsure of it’s abilities, I just loved it’s color and shape. Always shied away from the sphere due to needing a holder and your hack was amazing! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this information. I have always loved crystal spheres but don’t own any yet. One question please. Can spheres bring healing energy to someone who has mental issues, anxiety, etc.? If so which one would I pick for those properties? Can they be placed in a bedroom or better to be in the living area? Also, one last thought.. is it okay to sleep with crystals near you or would that upset the sleep?

For mental health/anxiety issues, the sphere you’ll want to look at first of all is Rose Quartz, then perhaps Amethyst. Everybody reacts to crystals differently, so you’d need to experiment a bit to find out whether or not they’ll disrupt your sleep, but Rose Quartz is usually one of the two best to have nearby when sleeping (the other being Angelite, which requires very careful handling as it’s very fragile and can’t get wet).
