Nine crystals for tough times and times of crisis. Build inner strength, courage and calm in the face of challenges, unforeseen change, stress and difficult times…
Going Through A Rough Time?
At the time of writing this (2020), it’s safe to say most people on the planet have experienced a challenging year. People and families are being tested, stable jobs vanished overnight and everyone has a lot more to deal with than normal.
I’ve been asked for crystals for tough times to help you get through big challenges. So I’ve put together a toolkit of crystals for tough times and sh*t storms. When you are feeling stressed or about to lose it, reach for one of these crystals to guide you through the chaos.
“Just remember this will all be over and you will look back on it one day and think, I made it!”
How To Use Crystals For Tough Times
As always the following crystal suggestions are all possible options for you to try. You don’t need all these crystals but feel free to combine crystals if you want. You can select crystals by their properties and your intuition. I recommend you cleanse your crystals and program them with your intention for the best results.
9 Crystals For Tough Times & Crisis
PIETERSITE
This mysterious looking crystal is also known as Tempest Stone. It was discovered in South Africa and comes in warm firey colours or cool blues. Pietersite is a great stone for navigating life changes and going through personal transformation. It helps you rise above the chaos and become the calm within the storm.
BLOODSTONE
I have chosen Bloodstone as one of my crystals for tough times because it gives you courage. This forest-green and blood-red stone builds inner strength within you to face inner or outer challenges. Bloodstone is also a good stone on the path of self-healing.
AMAZONITE
Reach for Amazonite when you are feeling stressed out by other people or your situation. It is a calming stone that will help balance your emotions and energy. Amazonite also brings you support when you need to have more faith that you will get through challenging periods in your life.
LABRADORITE
Let this magical crystal be your guide-stone through hard times. Labradorite shifts and changes as you shift and change as a person. It helps you go through life transitions and eases personal transformation. When you are going through a rough time, Labradorite helps stop it from getting you down and allows you to shine your light!
ROSE QUARTZ
Another good crystal for dealing with stress and worry. Work with Rose Quartz to calm your nerves and anchor inner peace. This pink form of Quartz offers emotional support and is one of the best stones to comfort you. Let this soothing stone melt away what is not serving you and focus more on looking after yourself.
BRONZITE
Earthy Bronzite can assist you through boosting your determination in the face of challenges and difficulties. Bronzite helps you face and overcome stubborn blocks and obstacles in life so that you can move forward. It is also a good grounding stone to keep your centre.
TURQUOISE
Grab some Turquoise when you need to get some clarity. It clears the mind and helps you see the bigger picture in any form of chaos in your life. Turquoise helps you relax, release stress and brings peace and calm. Another benefit of this stone during challenging situations is that it helps strengthen your faith.
BUMBLEBEE JASPER
This crystal is also known as Eclipse Stone. Bumblebee Jasper helps stabilise and balance your energy during chaotic times. Work with this stone during any life changes you are going through, it helps you adapt to change fast. Bumblebee Jasper supports you in overcoming fear and empowers you to move forward.
HEMATITE
Grab some Hematite if you need to still your mind and stop scattering your energy. This grounding stone helps reduce anxiety while blocking out negative energies entering your aura. Hematite gives you the inner strength you need to weather the storm and increase your resilience.

I’ve been using apophyllite & pyrite to overcome & relieve anxiety and orange calcite for a pick me up <3
Great newsletter, I really enjoyed 9 Crystals For Tough Times & Crisis. I will absolutely pick up a few of the stones I’m missing this weekend. Currently working in marketing and sales for a Global logistic company were the stress levels are very high because of Covid. I really miss my healing biz but can’t work directly on any one right now because or the pandemic and I am a hand on healer. Looking forward for the next shift.
BTW Congrats on the new book.

I have this large quartz filled blue geode that helped me through carpal tunnel syndrome. I slept with it on my bed and also meditated with it. My wrists are good now but any time I feel the symptoms break out again, this little friend is always my go-to. I am eternally grateful to this stone for helping me through those periods.
Also have a large green agate geode that I always sleep with when I’m either sad or feeling sick. This stone is a great immune system booster and helps with feelings of loneliness. This stone got me through pneumonia last year 🙂
(And antibiotics, of course, for the pneumonia. The stone helped ease and speed up recovery)
I’ve been using green calcite and honey calcite in addition to some of the ones you mentioned. Amazonite is awesome and the jasper family is so grounding. When I’m stressed I also like holding any see through stone up to candlelight and looking at all the details.
Absolutely. I love doing this with Fluorite, especially the ones with inclusions of Pyrite, but I can spend ages lost in almost any translucent to transparent crystal. They have a whole universe inside them.
Love and Light.
Botswana Agate has been one I’ve been working with, as it helps handle changes, and I have a lot of them right now. I’m also carrying either Hematite or Black Tourmaline for grounding and protection of my psyche. I think I may have to add the Rose Quartz, too. Thanks for your insightful article!
Thank you so very much for this information. I have most of the stones mentioned. But need to get 2 that are missing. Learning a lot from the Blogs & your books.
Love & light Namaste
I’m currently working with Blue Star Sapphire (finally!), Golden Healer Quartz, Clear Quartz (as always), plus Pistachio and Aquitaine Calcites (I just hit the Change, and I’ve found Aquitaine Calcite to be absolutely miraculous against hot flashes). I also have a good few more new crystals lined up to start work with.
Oh, and Ethan, I finally managed to locate a tumbled Celestite! I’ve wanted one since I saw the photo of yours on one of your articles a while ago.
I’ve also acquired a special new Labradorite. It’s mostly silver and ice-blue, instead of the usual azure to indigo, and it’s become one of my constant companions/immediate go-to helpers. I literally couldn’t tear my eyes away from it in the shop; that happened with my primary working Clear Quartz too, and it’s a sure sign that the crystal in question is calling me. In this case, stridently.
By the way, have you ever encountered Black Banded Agate? I just got my first piece, and it’s very pleasant, but I would appreciate a chance to learn your impressions, if you have the time and you’ve encountered it before.
Great finds. I’m glad you found those. I used to make bracelets from a black and white banded agate a long time ago. From what I remember it was grounding and the rings acted as protective eyes for me.
