Do You Have To Store Your Crystals SEPARATELY?

Do You Have To Store Your Crystals SEPARATELY?

Do You Have To Store Your Crystals SEPARATELY?

Do you need to store all crystals separately? Will different crystals clash or interfere with each other’s energy if you don’t? Is storing crystals together harmful, or is this a myth?

Don’t store Your Crystals Together?

This is a common question I get asked, especially from people new to crystal healing or who are growing their crystal collection. So, I think it’s about time I shared what I believe for everyone here so you can decide for yourself.

I personally don’t separate my crystals by what each crystal is. I do have my bigger crystals I use a lot together as well as a box of smaller crystals I use. I have not felt anything off with any of my crystals keeping them together like that. I will let them sit in the selenite bowl for a little bit just to clear anything that needs to be cleared from them before I put them on. I do the same with wearing any crystal(s) I am wearing on a daily basis.

Yes, storing crystals separately at first is easy enough; but when your collection runs into the hundreds and growing, and your flat isn’t exactly a penthouse? You muddle through.

My space saving/organisational method is a little different. Most of my easy-to-lose crystals are small, so I bought a couple of tool chests on Amazon (VonHaus Multi-purpose). They stack beautifully, and each contains four slide-out drawers comprising ten compartments (for nuts, bolts, fishing tackle etc… or crystals) plus the front of each drawer comprises a longer eleventh compartment. The dividers between adjoining compartments can also be removed if necessary, and each is adequate to hold one or more 25mm tumblestones. The top of each box has more storage for larger items; that’s where I keep some of my pendants, spare chains and chokers, and organza bags.

Other than this, our spare room/office/crystal room has a 3-tiered shelf, with our printer on the top one (with the boxes on top) and the other two covered with more crystals. Still more reside on the window ledge – these are Clear Quartzes and a large Brown Agate, so fading isn’t a problem – and then there’s my bedside table which, to be fair, is getting rather crowded (still others live under my pillows); and on Tuesday last week (the day after Easter Monday), I finally convinced hubby to have a crystal permanently in our living room: he’s a rabbit nut, and the crystal was one I bought that day, a 4″ ish banded Rose Quartz rabbit. She’s my baby, but he loves her. Before that, he wouldn’t countenance any crystals in that room long term. I’m hoping he might wake up to the possibilities, but he isn’t that sensitive to most crystals.

I organise my crystal boxes by Mohs’ hardness, with some specially reserved compartments for particular gems, e.g. Tourmalines in one, but the adjacent compartment contains Paraiba Tourmaline plus two Indicolite facets; or faceted Sapphires and Rubies in another, but Star Corundums next to them; working down so that Corundums are at rear left, then Alexandrite, then Topaz and Zircon, then Beryls, then Tourmalines, then Quartz family, then Feldspars, then Apatite and similar, Fluorite, then the few stones I have that are softer than that, carefully protected (though to tell the truth, a lot of my Celestites and Calcites are at my beside or on the shelves, and I only have three Celestites, none of which will fit in the compartments). I do have a couple of raw Diamonds, but I also keep them at my bedside.

It probably sounds more complex than it is, but I find it works perfectly. If a crystal calls out to me, I know where I can find it immediately.

    Love and Light.
